Poggiacolle is situated just 2 km from San Gimignano, a pretty town with a magnificent view from the pool, in the heart of Tuscany amidst green hills.
Our hotel is located centrally in our region, so you can easily reach the best art cities in the region, like Siena, Volterra, Florence, Pisa, Arezzo, and Lucca. Villa D’Este is centrally located on a property, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, green pastures and trees of oak, holm and chestnut. We might be able to spot Tuscan wildlife during a sunset in such a setting: pheasants, wild boars, hares and foxes.
There are beautiful views from the property, and it is off the main road, so it is rural and quiet in a part of Tuscany that is increasingly built up. I am in love with this property. It has immaculate rooms with luxurious bathrooms that are spotless and luxurious. Having a pool and watching a football match were our daughters’ favorite aspects of the hotel. You can enjoy San Gimignano in the early morning or late at night without worrying about crowds because it’s so close.
Also, it is very close to Florence (which is overcrowded) and Siena (which is surprisingly quiet). The owner, Stefano, speaks great English and is very friendly. The owner and chef of Poggiacolle, Marchella, works her tail off to provide guests with a delicious breakfast and a clean room. The fact that she does not speak English and we do not speak Italian makes the experience all the more enjoyable. If you are looking for a location in that area, I cannot recommend Poggiacolle more highly.
