1. Terms of Visit Stay Permit (ITK)

  • Provide a valid passport.
  • For children, parents are expected to fill in the application form and attach the national passport of the country of origin, birth certificate and child’s birth certificate, photocopy of the parent’s passport, and photocopy of the parent’s ITK.

2. Terms of Limited Stay Permit (ITAS)

The general requirements for getting an ITAS are:

  • Application form.
  • The valid passport.
  • Guarantee letter from the guarantor, except for foreigners legally married to Indonesian citizens.
  • The special requirements for foreigners who are currently attending education or training to obtain ITAS are:
  • Domicile certificate.
  • A valid entry to the Country of Indonesia.
  • Letter of recommendation from the relevant non-ministerial Government Institution or the ministry.
  • Recommendations to conduct research or learn from authorized agencies.
  • Plans for the Employment of Foreign Workers originate from relevant agencies with authority.

3. Terms of Permanent Stay Permit (Itap)

The requirements to get Itap include:

  • Fill out the form.
  • Have recommendations from relevant non-ministerial government agencies or ministries.
  • The national passport is still valid.
  • Integration statement that has been signed by the person concerned.
  • Photocopy of valid ITAS.
  • Domicile certificate.

Requirements for children who will also receive Itap include:

  • Guarantee letter from the guarantor.
  • Decision on transfer of status of residence permit.
  • Photocopy of birth certificate.
  • The photocopy of Itap’s parents, father/ mother, is still valid.
  • Copy of parents’ marriage certificate.
  • Photocopy of parent’s national passport, which is still valid.

All of the above requirements must be met and given to the authorities so that foreigners can get a residence permit in Indonesia following their respective goals.

If all the requirements have been met, you can stay in Indonesia by following the applicable rules and are considered to have officially received a residence permit in Indonesia. It means that the permit is legally valid in Indonesia.
